Yes, We Did: Change is Here!

I'm so tempted to post the picture of President Obama (ah, how I love the sound of that!) and me for a third time, but it's getting a little obnoxious.  Instead, here's one of my girl Rachel and me at an Election Watch party in Boston this evening.  I'm glad I came home before the announcement was made, because I really wanted to be by myself to process the significance of what we all just lived through tonight.

So where were you when Barack Obama was voted our 44th President, and what were you thinking?  Share your stories.

Comments:
Thanks for coming out to support! The turnout was fantastic, and the results were even better!

I was with Rach and Jay early in the night but the end of the night, the historic moment was spent alone at home. As I crosse the threshold of my apartment building I heard screams, then my phone started ringing...Rachel...and then I watched Senator McCain and our President Elect, Barack Obama. Shock, tears, laughter, phonecalls, texts all culminate in a feeling of pride about being an American, one which I am sorry to say I did not feel so intently when I was sworn in as a new citizen 2 years ago. Yes we can world, and we did; now there is more to do.

I was on my way walking back to my townhouse with two of my friends when we heard our girl Tasha screaming from down the block. We ran to our house to find two of our other friends at our front door screaming their heads off for us to let them in and that "our president is black."

It was quite a night on my campus. I had a lot of fun sharing this moment with my close friends. I called my mom and talked to the family between their crying :)

I feel recognized, proud, powerful and thankful.
