Change is Good: Except for When It's Bad
Next year, I won't be a teacher anymore. I'll be a principal in training. This is obviously very exciting. But in welcoming this new challenge in my career, I will also be saying goodbye to so many things I love. I will no longer be a classroom teacher, which means no more private jokes between me and my students; no more obscure grammar lessons that are in no way useful but are so much fun; no more dismissing what is going on in the school building around me, because I know that what's happening in my room is successful. I will have to make connections with students through other means. I'll have to know and care about what is going on in every teacher's classroom. And I'll have to make it better. Like I said, it's all very exciting. But at the same time, I never realized how much I treasured my job until now, when I'm walking away.

I'll never forget when you said that it's sexy when a guy uses a possessive gerund. Also, I still want to see that oh so embarassing sixie picture that you provoked us with. I wish I had you this year as a senior, but at least you're off to bigger and better things. best of luck.
